Shindaiwa Features

Automatic fast idle
Chainsaws with an integrated fast idle function bring the engine RPM off idle when the choke lever is activated. Enables easier startups, and is easily disengaged by activating the throttle lever once the chain saw has started.

Soft Start
A spring assisted starting system, designed to reduce the force needed on the starter rope. A secondary spring stores energy as you pull the rope and releases it to rotate the engine at a high enough speed to enable starting. This means you can start the engine with a much slower, easier pull on the starter rope. Shindaiwa ignition coils are designed and built to release a stronger spark at lower RPM. In conjunction with Soft Start, this allows for nearly effortless starting.

G-Force
Centrifugal engine air pre-cleaner removes particulates from incoming air, reducing air filter maintenance and increasing performance in demanding conditions.

Digital controlled C.D.I.
Capacitor discharge ignition system for easy starting and smooth acceleration.

Side access chain tensioner
All Shindaiwa rear handle chain saws feature side access tensioning for easier, safer chain adjustments.

Super anti-vibration system
Advanced anti-vibration technology to massively reduce vibration and increase operator comfort.

Rotational control
Straight blower pipes can cause the blower to twist under operation. Rotational control blower pipes ensure the blower is balanced in the operator's hand, reducing strain on the wrist and hand.

Ventilated back pad
On backpack blowers the ventilated back pad expels warm air and draws cool air around the operator's back. This feature can be turned off during cold weather or when not needed.

Posi-Loc pipe system
Provides a secure and tight connection in 2 simple steps. Simply connect and twist.

EZ-lock system
Securely connects leaf blower pipes to the body of the blower and releases easily for quick changes.

U handle
Fitted to brushcutters, the U handle is combined with a dual shoulder harness to distribute weight more evenly, increasing comfort. For clearing larger areas, including highway embankments and light scrub, a brushcutter fitted with a U handle is ideal.

Loop handle
Included on trimmers and commonly used for trimming against obstacles and vertical edging in residential or commercial applications. A loop handle is more manoeuvrable and lighter than a U handle. Many loop handle trimmers are compatible with cutting blades as well as nylon heads.

High Torque
A High Torque gearbox is specially geared and matched to the engine on the trimmer or brushcutter. The cutting head spins slightly slower at wide open throttle, allowing for more effective torque at the head. This keeps the engine in the ideal rev range for improved power delivery, keeping the engine speed more stable under heavy loads Users will experience an equivalent performance of a 5-10cc larger engine.
With High Torque, the cutting swath is also increased, allowing you to do more work in less time.

Rotatable handle
For comfortable operation at all angles the rear handle rotates through 180 degrees of movement. Standard on DH165ST, DH185ST and DH-232ST models.

Tip guard
Tip guard prevents blade contact with fences or buildings. Standard on most Shindaiwa hedge trimmers, or available as an option.

Adjustable cutter clearance
Cutter clearance is easily adjustable.

Optional Spike
Metal bucking spikes, standard on all Shindaiwa saws over 40cc. Optional for some models where metal spikes are not included as standard.

Adjustment free.
Cutter clearance is adjustment free.

Hybrid 4 technology
A Hybrid 4 engine runs on the same 2 stroke fuel as your other Shindaiwa tools, with no oil changes and easy starting, however they contain a cam gear with inlet and exhaust valves like a 4 stroke engine. This gives greater torque, lower emissions, and a more pleasant sound tone than an equivalent conventional 2 stroke engine. The Shindaiwa C361T brushcutter uses Hybrid 4 Technology.
